There is no other consumer product on the planet as sexy as fragrance. Throughout history, men’s cologne and women’s perfume were sold using provocative imagery that promised the scent would drive the opposite sex crazy with desire.

In the mid-1990s, Bernini Beverly Hills introduced a new men’s fragrance that was packaged in a highly unusual bottle designed to exude eroticism.

The product was made instantly famous after Bernini launched a nationwide ad campaign portraying women aroused by sexual imaginings the fragrance inspired. Though executed with utmost taste, the ads in combination with the suggestive bottle design created quite a bit of controversy.

Several authors published books on the topic of erotic advertising citing the Bernini Beverly Hills bottle and ad campaign as prime examples. Since then, the bottle design has achieved legendary status, something rarely seen in the fragrance world.
